Showing how to blog
Hey everyone. I am showing Dad how to do a blog. Maybe we will get Mom and Dad to post some of their fun pictures for us to see.

Silly Moments
Stage Make-up Removal
Despite the begging the girls had to take off their Dance Stage Make-up about 30 seconds after they left the dressing rooms. I know that some other mom's let their girls walk around Festival of Trees with their make-up still on, but I just couldn't do it.
Horse Ride Mommy Missed
How could Mommy have missed this horse ride if there are pictures? Easy!! I locked my keys in the car at Janeen's when Dad, and I brought the girls over to ride the horse. So I sat and waited for 1st President Reid, and then the locksmith to come and let me into the car. So I sent my camera with Dad. By the time I got my keys back the horse was back in the pasture, and the girls had moved on to looking at the baby chicks. *Sigh* At least I can see it in pictures.

Posting past pictures
So as usual I am pretty far behind when it comes to posting pictures. So in a quick post I'll try to get some of my old pictures posted.
Here are the cutest girls I have ever seen, all excited to go to school for the first day. Well, only Dahlia in the orange is starting school, but Bobbie wanted to "tend" (pretend) she was starting school too. Check out the purple Tinkerbell backpack in the edge of the picture. I was teasing Dahlia the week before, and asking her what color her backpack was. She answered me with her hand on her hips, and that tone of voice the clearly says I'm being silly by saying "It's Tinkerbell colored Mommy!!" Well, that told me.
So I have watched my fair share of Chris Farley movies, and all I can think when I see this picture is Chris Farley in Black Sheep singing Fat man in a little coat, fat man in a little coat. In defense of my nephew (the guy in the coat) that coat fits my 4 year old, and my nephew is very fit and in shape. My sister in the back ground is giving us the look like we have lost out minds. Yep, we are crazy, but we enjoy it!! Just another family get together, this time for Labor Day. can't wait to see what Thanksgiving bring us.

Making Good on an Old Promise
At Easter there were some . . . incriminating pictures taken. I promised to post them online. For a little while I felt bad about torturing my own nephews, but having come across those pictures recently while looking for something else, I decided to make good on the promise/threat to post the pictures. So here in all their glory are the pictures of the guys . . . in bunny ears.

Don't worry Carter and Jeff, I don't have Facebook o you are safe. But if I remember correctly at least 2 people there offered so kindly to post your pictures on their facebook (HINT . . . . . Jared, and Edward).
I think I remember Jared and Jordan telling Jeff and Carter to man-up and put on the bunny ears. When Jeff and Carter protested Jordan and Jared put them on to show that it wasn't that bad. Made all the little giggle, and the adults chuckle.
Can you guess which one in this pictures is here because he didn't have the oomph to get up and run away?? Guess climbing on the roof to hide Easter Eggs is pretty tiring. I am very glad the kids hid my Easter Eggs!! It was aguarantee that everything would be waist high or lower.

Girls in the Fountain Video
I have some video, and I am going to try to post it for the first time. So here goes nothing!!
Bobbie is in the blue striped swimsuit. Dahlia shows up at the end in a peach, and white swimsuit. It took several minutes of footage, and couldn't seem to get both the girls in the screen as the same time for more then a few seconds.
There were live musicians there in the square, so that is who you hear in the back ground. We are at the Gateway Mall in downtown SLC. It was 100 degrees, so running through the fountain seemed like a GREAT idea. I brought swimsuits, and towels. I tossed the girls clothes over their swimsuit after drying them off as best I could. They were completely dry in about 45 minutes. We rode trax there and back so the girls were exausted by the time we got home.

I see a trend (not a good indication for our future as cowboys)
It was Little Rodeo Day at This Is the Place Park. The girls raced on stick horses around the barrels (really some orange construction poles).
However, I noticed a sad pattern. Apparently none of the Seher girls are destined to be cowboys. All we managed to rope was . . . ourselves.
Bobbie caught . . Bobbie. Even with some help from Mommy (fine call it cheating) but she still didn't catch that tricky cow/hay bale thingy.

Dahlia caught . . . . Dahlia. No help needed from Mommy. I decided to help them by showing them the wrist movement, and Mommy caught . . . . Mommy. Hmmm, I am seeing a trend. There goes the vacation plans to the Dude-Ranch.
Here are by 2 beautiful girls on the train ride around the park. Also showing off Dahlia's cool new glasses. She is convinced she looks just like Velma. A little shorter, a little younger, a little less in love with the color orange. But still Velma-looking.

A Nurse's Child
Last Sunday in Primary we learned about Earth, and our bodies. Bobbie's teacher drew the head, hands and feet, and Bobbie added the rest of her body. Her teacher is new and was actually substituting so I was a little nervous when she came up to me and told me she wanted to show me what Bobbie drew.
This is Bobbie's body.
This is the back of the paper, and those two circles with the line in the middle is Bobbie's bum.
Luckily her teacher was laughing, as were all of the other ladies there. Me, I'm pretty proud that Bobbie is detail oriented. After all the assignment was to draw your body and the bum is a very important part of our bodies!!

Here are Dahlia and Bobbie at the Pre-Surgery Class. Dahlia is scheduled for a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy on April 24th. The hope is that this surgery will be enough to help decrease Dahlia's sleep apnea. They hesitate to use the "c" word (cure) for anything medical, but the hope is that it will lower the symptoms enough that we won't need to treat it further.
Primary Children's teaches a class for kids having surgery. They get to see the rooms where they will be,and go on a tour. They get to see the hats, face masks, gloves, etc. that the staff wear, and the special jammies they will wear when they go to surgery. They also get to pick the smell they have when they wear their face mask for surgery. The parents get a little class on what to expect, and what we can do to help the process along.

Dahlia's Big Test
Dahlia had a sleep test done in a sleep lab. Because she doesn't sleep well, or much at all her pediatrician wanted to make sure that we are treating the correct cause, rather then the most prominent symptom. Doctor Jackson explained that lack of sleep can cause children to be hyperactive, and have difficult transitioning, and so forth which mimics ADHD. Or it could be she has ADHD and that would certainly explain the difficulty getting to sleep, and the shortness of her sleep cycle. As well as the difficulty in preschool sitting still, and so forth. Since the answer will dramatically change the route of treatment we use it is a question we needed the answer to.
So one $2800 test later I am hoping that we will have the answer (YEAH for insurance that covers most of it!!!). Dahlia did the test Friday night. Her appt to see her pediatrician is in April, so they should have the test interpreted, and sent over by then.
The tech was . . . . . surprised by the volume, and the range of Dahlia's questions. She kindly explained what she was putting where, and why. Here is Dahlia part way through the applying of "stickers".
Here she is all done with leads, and so forth. Dahlia did amazingly well. It was not comfortable in a few parts, and she was pretty nervous about what would happen next. She was a little surprised when we expected her to lay down and fall asleep.

This little doodad caused us some heartache when the tech realized that some of the signals from Dahlia's test were funky. 3 phone calls to someone else, 2 replaced "stickers" (ouch!!), multiple trips back and forth from our room to the control room (right next door) to check if pulling this pin or that pin out helped, 1 time under the bed to check the connections, 1 moving the bed completely away from the wall to check those connections, 2 times to reboot the computer, 3 replaced wires and FINALLY the equipment was working. It took about an hour to find the problem, turns out one of the wires was partially shorted so the signal it was sending out was distorted, and it distorted the ones around it also.
Luckily Dahlia was pretty bored by most of it, other then the 2 replaced stickies that hurt. So she fell asleep about 5 minutes before the problem was declared to be solved.
She is still wearing some of the stickies since I can't convince her that it would be best just to rip them off quickly and be done with it. Some have fell off, some have been "helped" that last little bit, and some have been soaked off in the tub.
Mom and Dad came up to watch Bobbie, THANK YOU!!! Mom wasn't feeling well, so Dad took us out for a late breakfast/early lunch on Saturday. At that point Dahlia had all of the stickers still on her face, but non of the tubing in the last picture. We ate, the girls were very well behaved. The ladies had a quick trip to the ladies room to clean off hands and faces. When we were walking back to the car Dad joked about leaving on the stickers since they were working well for her so far. It turns out that an gentleman at the table next to us had paid for our whole ticket as he was leaving. Guess he figured short hair, and the funky looking stickies meant something much worse then it was. Oh, Dear!!

Employee of the Month

It even comes with a sweet parking spot for the month. I got my picture up on the board of this year's Employee of the Month's. I will take my camera and get a picture ot hat to add to my blog.
It was really cool. The management team and the newsletter commitee (6 people total) came into the shot room, and Chris was in there discussing the division of the patient calls. They asked Chris to stay, and then they read the srticle above. I got a gift card to Mimi's Cafe (I think it is american food, I've never been there), and my choice of candy bars. When they tried to take my picture
The girls are thrilled about it, even if they don't exactly know what it means. I think they are impressed with the parking spot part the most.

Funny pictures involving food.
I was looking through Picasa (my digital image software) and saw some really funny pictures that I hadn't shared with anyone. Thought I would share a few with you guys. Hopefully they make you smile like they did for me. Enjoy!!
Bobbie trying chopsticks for the first time. She enjoyed waving them around, and got a few bits or food in her mouth by accident.
Dahlia took a slightly different approach, and used her chopsticks with her fingers. Not exactly what I had in mind, but if it works, it works.
It looks from the angle like Grandpa Jones is fighting Naomi for the frosting on her finger. Though I can reassure you he isn't.
Hmmm, have to rethink green frosting on a cake. Dahlia, Bobbie , and Lilly (their cousin on their father's side) had a great time showing off their green tongues. Not what I thought they would be excited about when I got the Disney Princess cake (with plastic princess figurines) for Dahlia's birthday.
Such a lovely face. I warned Bobbie it could freeze like that, but it didn't seem to bother her. Luckily it didn't. What a goof ball.

The things that keep you from killing your kids
The girls are suppose to be watching their movie. But I can clearly hear them NOT watching their movie. However, what I overhear is far more entertaining, and not destructive so I am enjoying listening to them.
Dahlia is teaching Bobbie to dance. Dahlia is, of course, the girl. Bobbie gets the unfortunate role of boy. Dahlia, having never actually danced with a boy, has some interesting ideas.
Dahlia: The boy's hand goes on the shoulder, and mine goes around your back.
Bobbie: ?? puzzled look
Dahlia: I said on the shoulder. You do know what a shoulder is?
Bobbie: No verbal answer
Dahlia: Now move here . . . . . move there . . . . . . . move this way.
Hmmmm I can fore see a possible problem the first time Dahlia gets to dance with a real boy. Poor kid won't know what hit him.
It has been an interesting couple of weeks since I last updated. We went to see Grandma and Grandpa Jones. I got a perm. Dahlia and Bobbie loved to play with it, until Bobbie announced that it was stinky and then refused to get near me for the next hour or so. Bobbie cried in the car all the way to the Library.
If you have not been to the Monroe Library recently you have to go just to check out the new Children's Section. (Hint, hint Val). It is totally cool, with the wall mural from Judy Jones, and the rug map of the US on the floor.
The girl's reward for behaving at the Library, besides the books, was to go to the park. they wanted one with a set of swings.
So we ended up at the Kindergarten/First Grade playground. in addition to the swings they have this lovely play set. So the girls played part on the swings, and part on the play set. There was another little girl there (she said she was in 3rd grade, so I am guessing 9-10ish). She showed the girls how to climb all over the dome thingy. I was hoping they would somehow not notice it,and stay away. But I am learning that the girls seem to see all the things I am hoping they'll miss, and they love them all.
Mom threatened at one point if the girls did not do something (I forget what) that they would ave to stay there, and not get to come home with Mommy on Sunday. I told Mom it was mean to make promises like that. Gets me all excited. The girls didn't understand why Mommy and Grandma were laughing. I noticed she never made that threat again.
I have had tonsillitis, and I am guessing also strep throat. the doctor took one look ,and told me he wasn't going to bother culturing it since he was going to treat anyways. But other then the look he didn't say much about needing to get them removed. I have decided that after 30 years my tonsils will probably be with me until I die. Even if they are the cause of my death, and/or I whine a lot when I get sick due to them. Poor Mom, every time I get tonsillitis I have to call and ask her why she let me get to be an adult and still have tonsils. She doesn't remember the doctor ever telling her that I needed them out, but since I am usually miserable at that point, I am less then fully logical (okay fine, even more less logical then normal for me). Is it possible to be negative in the logical department, or does that only mean I've slid fulling into illogical?? Is there even an answer tot his question?
I am on the mend now, and yes Dad I do believe in life after death (even if you were only kidding on the phone). I also believe in life after antibiotics!! I still get tired easily, but it hasn't been a full week on antibiotics (I want to much to type abx instead of typing out antibiotics) so I know it will get better over the next while. Again YEAH for antibiotics!!
Dahlia and Bobbie make great nurses, if a bit scattered. Dahlia wanted to rock me, and Bobbie wanted to brush my hair. None of which was actually what I needed or the least bit helpful. But they were tearing down the house, and I needed that more then I needed someone to fetch me drinks, and fluff my pillows (not that I as a nurse ever fluffed any one's pillows).
That is all from us. I will take a peek at the camera ans see if there are any new pictures to add. Pictures always make a blog more fun, don't you think??

Logic from a 3 year old mind
Bobbie and I had a conversation this morning that I am still laughing about.
Bobbie: I want more marshmallows.
Mommy: You already at 2 cup fulls.
Bobbie: I like marshmallows.
Mommy: But if you eat more you'll explode.
Bobbie: No I won't, I'll poop them out my bum.
Mommy: . . . . . . . . . . Umm, no. No more marshmallows.
Bobbie: Really Mommy, I will poop them out and be okay. Please!!
At this point I am laughing so hard I can't even finish talking to Bobbie. It's hard to argue with logic like that. She was technically right, but I was not about to get into a conversation about food, and the movement into the body, and out of the body.
The choice of "You'll explode" is because Dahlia told Bobbie and I she would explode if she ate anymore food a few minutes earlier.
I love kids!!!

Where did January Go??
I am not exactly sure where January went. But it sure went fast.
The girls started Tumbling Class, and Combo Dance Class thanks to Uncle Edward.
Here they are one first day of Tumbling & Dance Class. They tried on their new dance clothes (Thank you Uncle Edward) the night before and I practically had to pry them out of their outfits. They loved the class. Went right in and laughed and giggled through it all. Dahlia woke up the next morning and refused to get out of bed. She said she wasn't getting up until it was Wednesday again. She wanted to go to dance class again. (THANK YOU Uncle Edward!!)
Here is a picture of Donna (former mother in law), Myself, Dahlia and Bobbie at Walking with Dinosaurs, the Live Experience. It took a little convincing to explain to the girls that even though the Dinosaurs looked real, that they were actually just really big puppets. Really Really Big Puppets. It was at the Delta Center (just like BYU Idaho will always be Ricks, the Energy Solutions Arena will always be the Delta Center). To get the company discount I had to go through Ticketmaster. To get Donna's wheelchair access seat I had to go through a bit of a process. But let me tell you it was totally worth it. First the girls love to do things with Doug and Donna (though Doug did not come this time). Second the wheelchair access seats totally rock!! We were sitting at the very front of the second tier up. Donna rolled up to the railing, and they put up cushy folding chairs for the girls and I. We were able to scoot the chairs together, and the girls could trade laps as needed.
The girls enjoying Hot Chocolate at the Jones Farm in December (2008). They both love mini marshmellows, and love any occasion that calls for them. they will even eat them straight up (ugh!!). They also displayed their skill as sweet talking adults into giving them squirts of the spray-can whipped cream. I am pretty sure the consumed more of the whipped cream, and mini marshmellows then actual hot chocolate.
Here is Grandpa Jones pulling the girls around on their new sled. It was about 8 dgrees that morning so Mon and I are standing at the kitchen window taking pictures. On Christams day it blew so hard that Mom's wind chimes, hanging from the backyard tree) were almost straight horizontal. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the tempurate barely reached double digits. Finally we bundled the girls and sent them out with Grandpa on his way to feed the cows.
I forgot to warn Mom and she got a big shock when Bobbie came running into the garage when we got there for Christmas. See in December the girls and I learned a big lesson. Me, I learned not to issue a threat I was not willing to follow thru on. Dahlia and Bobbie, learned Mommy is crazy enough to shave their heads (if they cut their hair one more time). Though Bobbie did sit still long enough for Dahlia to cute her hair, I did feel bad about shaving her head. The spots of cut hair in the back was so short there was nothing to do but shave it to even it all out.
Dahlia got her hair shaved for doing the cutting. I calmly explained to the (and have reinforced since then) that if she wants hair she has to show that she can take care of it, by not cutting it. dahlia has said several times that she can't wait to have hair again, and she pinky promised (twice) not to cut it or sissy's hair again. We'll see!!
Well, that is us and our crazy January. Work is going well. It will be good to have my doctor back. with her gone on a month long cruise (with her husband, brother, and parents) the other nurse Chris, and I have been sharing the work week. So one of us gets 2 1/2 days and the other gets 2 days, then we trade for the next week. Will be nice to get back to working 5 days a week.
Gotta Run.
