Where in the world did the last 8 months go?!?

Not that is surprises anyone, but I seem to have lost track of time and it has been months since I last updated.  In my defense in the last 8 months we have had a few changes such as:

* I graduated from college with my BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing)
* I participated in the graduation ceremony & walked across the stage to accept my BSN.
* I got a new job.  So now I work 8-430 M-F on the phones as a nurse case manager and a few weekends a month as a pediatric home health nurse.
* I lost the most weight in my division at TOPS in 2016, so I was invited to participate in the division winner ceremony at SRD (State Recognition Days) in June.
* Bobbie moved to Junior High.
* Bobbie took an accelerated summer math class for 7th grade, so she is now taking an 8th grade accelerated math class (while she is in the 7th grade).  Big Brain!!!
* Bobbie is taking a Hip-Hop Dance class thru the community classes @ the high school.
* Bobbie started her cooking classes back up in the fall.  Yummy!!
* Dahlia switched to a Science and Arts STEM school.
* Dahlia started playing the baritone in the beginning band class.
* Dahlia is rocking her braces.
*Both the girls are now wearing glasses.

See I have excuses for why I haven't been as good at updating . . . right?!?  Yeah, I don't think so either.

So I promise that my next post won't be 8 months from now!!

WOO HOO I graduated from college WOO HOO

In October 2015 I started at WGU (Western Governors University) studying for my Bachelors of Science in Nursing.  A lot of things have happened between then and now.

Dahlia was transferred from Uni to Youth Village to GTC to her Dad's house.
Bobbie had a CT Scan, a Sleep Study and finally surgery for her tonsils and adenoids.
We bought a house (condo).  We moved.
I may have lost my mind a few times.
I know I lost hope a few times as well.
My family and friends kept cheering me on, and reminding me how far I had come, and how awesome I was.

I am super excited to report that I have graduated as of 1 week ago.  My final assignment was approved on Sunday 3-19.  Mt application for graduation was approved on 3-20.  I received my diploma on 3-24.  WOO HOO!!!

I stared sending out applications for jobs that will use my BSN yesterday.  A new adventure awaits me (and the Seher Gals).  I am a walking advertisement for not giving up on a dream.  It took me 20 years to finally complete my nursing school plans.

1996 I graduated High School
1998 I graduated college with my Associates of Applied Science
1999 I graduated with my LPN Diploma
2000 I graduated with my RN Diploma
2017 I graduated with my BSN

A whole lotta life happened between 2000 and 2017.
A marriage
A divorce
Moved from Utah to Illinois
Moved from Illinois to Virginia
Moved from Virginia to California
Moved from California to Utah
Had Dahlia (in Virginia)
Had Bobbie (In California)
Worked in multiple different jobs (see the list of moves above)

If I do decide to go back to school again, I am certainly not waiting 17 more years!!

Embarrassing Confession

So I have switched to working night shifts a few weeks ago.  I watch a set of siblings over night and make sure that they are medically safe during my shift.  They have an awesome set of parents!!

The other day I got a compliment by my client's father.  He mentioned that he always knows when it is my shift because I smell like vanilla, and after I leave the kitchen (where I sit during my shift) smells like vanilla for a while after my shift.

I didn't have to heart to confess that I smell like vanilla because I carry a spray called Unicorn Gold Pinch of Vanilla and I use it to cover when I have stinky farts.  Good to know that it is working and no one can tell that I was really stinking up the kitchen, and used the spray to make it much more aromatically pleasant.

Between the increased protein in my diet, and the increased vegetables (and fruits) I have noticed an unfortunate increase of windy-ness from my hiney.  Thank heavens that the Unicorn Gold works really, REALLY well at it's job!!

A gratuitous cat picture to make my blog post a little longer.  Plus my cats are pretty darn cute!!

Chikita and Saya both agree that the stairs belong to them, and you need the new password to pass.  The password is "Here's some wet cat food for you two."

Darn School

Well, I hate to post it AGAIN, but we are still here.  Life got busy  . . . . AGAIN, and I dropped off on my blogging.

Quick update:
I am in my last semester at school, and sometimes I need a small break from my papers so I thought posting a blog now and then would be a great way to take a break without getting too far off the computer.

I am working night shift, and the world is pretty darn quite around me.  My clients are asleep, their family is asleep.  The wind is blowing pretty hard.  The reason I mention it is because there is one stupid leaf that keeps getting blown in and out of the corner of my vision by the sliding glass window by the wind and every single time it moves I jump.  I feel dorky, but with it being dark outside, and my brain not expecting any movements it scares me every time.  Silly reflexes!!

Miss Bobbie had a sleep study done this weekend.  The doctor is thinking that her chronic sore throat may actually be related to swollen tonsils and snoring.  So she got all wired up and in a few weeks we will get the results.  Would be nice to have an answer and possibly a solution to the sore throat that has lasted for 6 months.

Chikita has staked her claim on Bobbie's bed.  She very clearly has decided that it actually belongs to her, but she will graciously loan it back to her favorite bidepal, fur-less pet.

Saya is always happy to nap on me, and once in a  while I even join him in taking a nap.  Afterall it looks so darn inviting and fun when he does it, might as well give it a try myself.

Well, just a quick post to say hello, and we are still here.  Even threw in a few pictures that I love.
