A Nurse's Child

Last Sunday in Primary we learned about Earth, and our bodies. Bobbie's teacher drew the head, hands and feet, and Bobbie added the rest of her body. Her teacher is new and was actually substituting so I was a little nervous when she came up to me and told me she wanted to show me what Bobbie drew.

This is Bobbie's body.

This is the back of the paper, and those two circles with the line in the middle is Bobbie's bum.

Luckily her teacher was laughing, as were all of the other ladies there. Me, I'm pretty proud that Bobbie is detail oriented. After all the assignment was to draw your body and the bum is a very important part of our bodies!!

Here are Dahlia and Bobbie at the Pre-Surgery Class. Dahlia is scheduled for a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy on April 24th. The hope is that this surgery will be enough to help decrease Dahlia's sleep apnea. They hesitate to use the "c" word (cure) for anything medical, but the hope is that it will lower the symptoms enough that we won't need to treat it further.

Primary Children's teaches a class for kids having surgery. They get to see the rooms where they will be,and go on a tour. They get to see the hats, face masks, gloves, etc. that the staff wear, and the special jammies they will wear when they go to surgery. They also get to pick the smell they have when they wear their face mask for surgery. The parents get a little class on what to expect, and what we can do to help the process along.
