Waiting for test results

I am anxiously waiting with Miss Bobbie for the test results from my last college class.

Yes, you heard that correctly, I am back in college.  No time like the present to add more to my plate.  Then again I can't wait to finish a dream/goal that I have had for the last 20 years.

So what do you do at the Seher House when you are waiting (and repeatedly refreshing the screen) for your test results???  You update your blog.

Hmmm want to say . . . . we are all hanging in there.  We are enjoying the freezing cold.  Can't wait for Christmas to come.

Oh Oh I know what is new and different!!  We have 2 new kitties.  Miss Chikita is a 12 year old princess with a little bit of an attitude.  Mr. Saya is a 6 year old goofball that loves to be in the middle of everything (including studying homework, and typing blogs).

Sadly I don't have any pictures to add to the blog right now.  Maybe the next post with have pictures of our awesome kitties.

Insomnia

What do you do when you have insomnia??
Well, so far this morning I have:
1)  printed out some paperwork I need to fax at work today
2) petted the cat about a thousand times.  Also relocated the cat out of my lap just as often.
3) cleaned out my email
4) organized my email
5) read a bunch of old emails to decide where they belong
6) tried to read my book (couldn't concentrate to get into it)
7) cleaned the kitchen floor
8) read my sisters blog and got caught up on it
9) felt guilty about not updating my blog more often
AND
10) updated my blog!!!

I don't have a problem falling asleep, I have a problem staying asleep.  Ugh!!  So I get a bunch of little things done and hope that I will feel sleepy again soon.  Not the best plan, but hey I'm am functioning on a small amount of sleep right about now!!

Can't Wait for School!!!

The girls and I can't wait for school to start.  They would like to get back to their routine.  My new job revolves around the school schedule, so until school starts I don't start working.  We even have proof of how ready we are to start school.  Check out these pictures.

Dahlia was so bored one day she colored this disposable tape dispenser orange.  That killed about 4 minutes. Woo Hoo!!

This is Bobbie at the doctors office.  Nope, not bored at all!!!  Better yet, I got about 10-15 pictures of her in various silly positions in that chair.  Blackmail for when she gets older!!

This is my ankle/foot 4 days after I fell and 'aggravated' an old fracture.  Definitely not bored, much more like in pain and can't wait for time to pass and the healing to happen.

Well, school starts in 2 weeks and hopefully we can find some more fun things to do to pass the time.  Maybe I'll even get another blog post up before then . . . . . well no promises.

Busy Summer!!!

It has been a busy and hectic summer here at the Seher House.  So how about we do a quick peek update?!?!  Woo Hoo!!!

JUNE:
I am not saying that our family is insanely competitive, but there is photographic evidence that a 'friendly' game of Bocci Ball involved a tape measure.  The closest difference between possible winning balls was less than 1/4th of an inch.  Maybe that means the guys in the family are just that good at playing Bocci Ball!!!

We tried a new recipe I found in a magazine.  We ended up with some really yummy Pizza Bombs.  We also ended up with a big mess and lots of laughs.  So I would call this a win on all fronts!!

Unfortunately we had several trips to the ER, so this was a not as fun part of the summer.  Boo Hoo!!

JULY:
The girls had tons of fun going to Achievement Days with their 'cousin' Harley.  The rest of us enjoyed the suckers that they made and brought home to share with us.  YUMMY!!!

Some days you just need to put Pug-Pug in the stroller when you are pushing it back from where someone left it in the parking lot at PCMC.

I am not saying that my family is full of silly kiddos, but there sure does seem to be a lot of photographic evidence.  Dahlia managed to get it a little further before the cheese finally broke.

We had fire works for both the 4th of July to celebrate our country's independence, and the 24th of July to celebrate the foundation of our state.  Bonus points: no one got injured!!

We had a sad couple of week with poor Blinky (our car).  Took a multiple repairs, but she is back up and running.  Dad helped me, my friend Keeva's husband Tonio helped me, and Jade my mechanic helped me.  Thank the Heavens for this blessing!!!

Well that brings us up to August.  So you are caught up on at least a little part of our chaos and fun!!

Family . . .the girl's Dad's side

I post lots of blogs about my side of the family.  I rarely blog anything about the girls's dad's side.  Partially because that is my ex-husband's family, and partially because there isn't a lot to photograph and blog.

However there was a fairly big event recently that is significant for the girls . . . so here it is.  This is the first time in 5+ years that the girls and both of their (1/2) siblings are together in the same place at the same time.  Considering that there are 3 mom's involved and not all of us get along and not all of us get along with the father of the kids it is a big thing to be able to get all of the kids together.

 Dahlia, Bobbie, Don, Owen, Gaby.

Not sure who decided an up the tree picture was a good idea, but the kids loved it!!

The kids ran around and played for about 45 minutes, and then one of them needed to go.  Hopefully there will be more times when the girls get to see their siblings and it won't be quite so long in between.

Earlier that day we went to see Grammy and Grampy (my ex's parents) and I finally remembered to get some pictures.  So here they are.

Bobbie wrestling with Sheba.  It took a while to get a good picture as they would keep moving just when I was about ready to take the picture.

Dahlia actually stopped long enough to let me take a picture.  A rare occurrence lately.

Doug and Donna headed up her ramp into their place.  Getting them to hold still for a pictures is just about as hard as getting Dahlia to let me take a picture.

Hike to Ensign Peak

#1 Yes the girls and I hiked to the top of Ensign Peak.  #2 I am gonna hurt the person who listed the hike to Ensign Peak as a young child friendly hike.  I figured that if you can do it with little kids it would be a safe enough level for an out of shape Mom.  I thought wrong!!

Here we are at the start of the hike.  I have no clue what I have gotten myself in for yet.

Thank heavens for the periodic sets of stone seats at the edges of the trail.  We didn't use every one of them, but we did use most of them.

We made it!!  The view was awesome.  Bobbie had tons of fun taking pictures at the top.  Now we just had to get back down the trail without someone tripping and falling.

I had packed a lunch with the intention of eating it at the top for a rest, however only Bobbie was hungry.  So Bobbie had part of her lunch and Dahlia and I ate ours later at the car.

Dramatic picture by a trail marker . . . taken on the way down . . .when I had enough energy to think Hmmm maybe we should take a picture of the girls by a trail marker.
Note to self:  Next time let the girls carry the backpack.

Note to self: Let either of the girls carry the backpack.  They both begged for a chance and enjoyed every second of it.

We made it back down safe and sounds.  No trips, no falls, no injuries.  Woo Hoo!!!  Next time no picking a trail that is 3/4 switch backs and all uphill!!

Then we went to a park because the girls STILL had tons of energy left.  We stayed there for a while trying to run some energy out of them.  No such luck!!!

If only I could bottle their energy and sell it!!

So many things happening at the Seher House!!!

There are so many things happening at the Seher house.  While I have been better at getting pictures (or handing off the camera to my kids and letting them take pictures), I haven't been as good at getting them from my camera to the blog.  Oops!!  Now if only I could figure out how to blog straight from my phone I would be set.

Here are a few of the highlights from last month:

With the nice weather in April we went to the park and had a picnic.  The girls voluntarily color coordinated their outfits.  I promise it wasn't me that stuffed them in matching clothes . . . . this time.

We went out to breakfast with a friend, and the girls were so silly they couldn't contain themselves.  Luckily Mom has a camera to photograph the future dating blackmail . . . oops I meant silly things they did.

In the end of April we attended the Payson Temple Open House.  Such a WONDERFUL experience.  The girls learned so much, and it was uplifting hearing them talk about what they already know about temples and why they are so important to us!!

Books on tape and Treadmills

I maybe a little late to this craze, but can I tell you how AWESOME listening to a favorite book on tape is . . . . even if you are currently walking on the treadmill.  I have tried watching TV (sort of) from my treadmill, but the TV is off to the side, so you can really only see it out of the corner of your eye, or you have to twist around at a awkward angle.  I also tried to listen to music on Pandora, but I seem to be too picky and keep having to stop to skip a song, or change the channel.  So finding a book I LOVE means that I can get in the groove and get thru my treadmill time as quick as possible.

Not that I am on the treadmill right this exact minute, but I was on Saturday, and I will be on it tonight.  Currently I am listening to Princess Academy.  Next is the sequel.  After that, who knows??

I tried listening to the scriptures, but I felt awful thinking mean thoughts about the treadmill while  trying to listening to the uplifting message of King Benjamin in the Book of Mormon.  Not a good combination!!

Hmmmm what if I listened to a self-improvement book while walking on the treadmill . . . . would this increase the awesomeness even that much more?!?  If so, any suggestions from my adoring public??

This is the view from my treadmill.  I keep thinking that I need to put up an inspirational saying.  There are so many good ones, but I haven't found one that really speaks to me.  (though looking at the picture maybe I better scrub my freezer first.   I have never even noticed the yellowish-ness on the side.  Yikes!!!)

So sad about the Blogger App

I downloaded the Blogger/Blogspot app and hopped right in typing away on a blog.  Sadly when it came time to upload the post it kept giving me an error message.  So I will NOT be posting my latest blog from the app :(

I was super excited I had even figured out how to attach a picture and everything.

Morning with Bobberino

Miss Bobbie and I spent the morning being silly.  I know it is head to believe, but it is true!!  I even took a few pictures to prove it.

Bobbie wants you to see that she lost 2 teeth recently, and now the adult teeth are growing in.  She shows EVERYONE, including the cashier at Walmart, and our waitress.

This is Pug-Pug or Puppy or Lucky or ________ (the dog's name changes by the minute), but her love for this cute little stuffed guy doesn't.

Did I mention that Bobbie and her puppy are inseparable??  Getting them apart for school on Friday took Mommy promising on my LIFE that I would remember to feed, and love, and rock/sing to, and NEVER EVER leave him in the car!!  Even then I wasn't sure Bobbie would actually part with the stuffed puppy.

Seher Family Is STILL ALIVE

Shocking News Recently Reported in Murray Utah:
Seher Family  . . . . . . . . is STILL ALIVE!!!

So here's the deal.  I take a bajillion pictures. . . . . okay maybe just a bunch.

Sadly they live on my camera and/or cellphone and no one else gets to see them.  So I am going to upload 1 picture a week to my blog.  This way there is ongoing proof that we are alive AND someone gets to share in the awesomeness of my photographic talents!!

Hmmmmm which picture to start with?!?   How about the proof that I am getting old.

How do these pictures prove I am getting old??  Because this is New Beginings with Dahlia!!  YIKES!!!
Sister Flores pinning on Dahlia's badge

Check out the Young Women Dahlia will be joining on her birthday in October

Now this is a group she will fit in with.  Look at all those goofballs!!!

Dahlia's badge introducing her to the Young Women's this year

Behold the elusive Dahlia.  She is very difficult to photography because of her extreme camera shyness.  She is VERY embarrassed by the Mommy who wants to take a million pictures of her and her awesomeness.  Note the actual smile, eye contact with the camera, and the fact that she is not actively running away from me.  Woo to the Hoo!!!
