1st day of school

Okay technically it was Bobbie's 1st day of school, and the start of Dahlia's 2nd week. But they are still cuties!!

We are nearing the end of the week this picture was taken in. Dahlia is still loving her English and Spanish classes. Last night she sang me several songs in Spanish (with movements, and hand gestures). One about washing your hands, one about numbers, one about the months of the year, and one that caused much giggling so I am not sure what it was suppose to be about.
Bobbie reports that she LOVES school!! She is thrilled to be riding the bus, and getting to do big kid things at school.
I signed up to help with some of the Friday activities/lessons. They said mid-September would be when they got out the assignments. So in a few weeks I should know what they need my help with.
I am trying to sign up for an evening spanish class that Dahlia's teacher is teaching at the high school. I asked for more info, but haven't heard back yet. It is 8-10 weeks one night a week. So hopefully that works out. After all I need to be able to keep up with my kids. Plus, knowing a little more spanish will definately help me at work.

Ward 5K, Walk, & Kids Bike Parade

We just got back from the Riverside 4th Ward 5K, Walk, and Kids Bike Parade activity. It was a lot of fun!! So here are a few pictures of the girls and the fun things they did.

Bobbie and Dahlia were highly fascinated by the bird that one family brought with them. By the time I got there with a camera they were usually off and running to the next fascinating thing.

Yummy breakfast after the walk. They even made the pancakes into shapes (on purpose). Nothing like delicious Tang to add nutrients to your first meal of the day.

Sadly this is the best picture I got of Dahlia. She is very zippy on her bike, and I couldn't get her to stay still long enough for a picture.

Bobbie loves posing for pictures!! See her beautifully decorated bike??

I have some video of the bike parade but I can't figure out how to shorten it to the part that I know you want to see. So I am going to keep working on that. If & when I figure that out I will get it posted.

Bill (and Omar)'s Farewell

Hey Everyone,

A couple of pictures from Bill (and Omar)'s Farewell. We gave Bill a ride, and stayed for the wait. It was as festive an experience as it could be. The base, and the volunteers went way overboard in trying to make it a good experience for everyone. We met some more of Bill's friends, and I remembered to bring my camera (and actually use it). So here are some of the pictures.

The girls wanted to help Bill carry some of his stuff from his truck to our car. Problem is that his bags were sooo full that there wasn't anything anywhere near light enough for them to even try. So instead they just kept him company instead.

Who do the girls use for free rides, and a mobile jungle gym?? Bill!! Dahlia was totally freaking out, and I am surprised she managed a smile long enough for the picture. She lasted about 10 seconds after the picture was taken before she had to come down.

Here is Bill with us a couple of minutes before they formed up to get on the plane. Right about now Dahlia and Bobbie have collected about 50 candy bars. They volunteers there that arranged for, and helped to serve the food were giving away the bottled water, and candy by the handfuls near the end. I made fun of one of the other mom's there (she was wishing Bill off, and her brother in law as well) and her kids had filled their hands, and her purse full, and them some more. Seems that karma got me back a little later in the evening.

Not really sure what is going through Dahlia's mind, but it makes for a really funny picture!! I think that she thinks she is smiling. I was too busy trying not to laugh as I took the picture.
Bobbie and Dahlia collected so many bottles of water (every time one of the volunteers came by giving out bottles of water they took more). One of Bill's friends and I emptied a lot of them out into Bill's camelpak. As Bill was gearing up Bobbie discovered that Bill had his camelpak, and desperately needed a drink of water . . right then . . . but only from his camelpak. Dahlia was there taking her turn a few seconds later.

The girls were very excited to see Omar. He was the one that we called to help Mom and Dad move their old china hutch into my place at Fairstone. The girls (as well as most of the other kids at church) have a huge crush on Omar. He is such an awesome person.

The girls and some of Omar's nieces and nephews rubbing his head . . maybe for luck. . .or maybe because it feels funny. . . or could be because it makes all of the adults giggle when they do. What you can't see is Michelle (Omar's wife) sitting right behind him about to fall over laughing. This was the best picture I could take since everyone was wiggling around.

Sorry for the bad picture. Bobbie took a picture of the plane as it was starting to take off. With the flash you can mostly see the concrete between us and the plane. I cropped it off, and this was what was left. But the sentiment is there.

It was an honor to be able to be there with Bill and his friends (and Omar with his family) to show them that we support them, and wish them well during their deployment to Iraq!!

Girl's Dance Concert

The girls had their Dance Concert on June 16th. They were awesome. I am totally biased, but I think they did a fabulous job dancing!! Everyone around us said so too. I forgot my camera, and the camera on my cell phone malfunctioned so I don't have any pictures from the actual concert. So I made the girls pose for a few after we got home. So here they are.

This is the girls coming down the stairs to our place with their gifts from everyone. Note that they can't even stop eating their chocolate suckers long enough for me to take a picture!!
Check out the cute purple spider bum on the right!! When I get the DVD I will have to figure out how to post some of the video from it. Bobbie looked hilarious doing the spider walk to her place on the stage.
Here is a close up from Dahlia's shirt. It lists all the girls in the finale. The jewel by her name. Bobbie got a blue one, but didn't wear it for concert as she wasn't in the finale. Bobbie's name is only listed because we bought a shirt for her. The other preschool girls are not listed.
These are the flowers that Amy and Minette gave the girls. Amy and Minette were totally awesome and got the girls dressed in their dance outfits each week. They gave Dahlia a ride to dance so that she could still attend. She had to be to dance class by 5pm, and I don't get off work until 5or 530 so with out Amy and Minette I would have had to pull the girls from dance classes. THANK YOU Amy and Minette!!
I will try to post more often. We get so busy and I don't think about posting things until weeks or months after they happen. But I will try to be a little more consistent in posting.

Family Pictures at Thanksgiving

This is a such a nice looking family. so normal, and dare I say it . . attractive. But the only problem is that I fear we actually look more like the photo below.

Yep, this is definitely more our style. *SIGH* we do put on a good front for the public when we like. Either way we are an AWESOME family!!

Such a cute family. The girl and I are so very lucky with all of the blessing we have received this year. Including a wonderful family, health, a great job along with various other smaller blessing that I can't even begin to list.

Look 2 beautiful girls. Now I know that I am a bit biased, but I would have to say that these are the 2 cutest girls that I have ever seen. Look at those sweet smiles, and how cute they are sitting together like sisters.
