Time Speeds Past

Is it just me or did December come flying at you at a high speed??

Here we are at the Jones Farm for Christmas. The girls and I had a great time. Santa did not forget where they were, and Santa did get the info from Mommy that the girls had cleaned their room. They were a little worried on both accounts.

They received quite a little pile of goodies. Benches from Grandma and Grandpa Jones, as well as a blue plastic sled, and a Dora play tent (the tent and sled will stay at Grandma & Grandpa's). They got a dolly stroller each, Bobbie got Chutes and Ladders (Dad summed it up best when he said, the board seemed to have gotten a lot bigger since we had one as a kid.), Dahlia got Operation (mommy needs a frontal lobotomy for being crazy enough to buy that for the kids!!). We as a family got Sorry. The girls had a great time, and are totally in tune with the revenge portion of the game. Bobbie and Dahlia both giggled while sing-songing Sorry and putting Mom and I back to the start, again and again.

I got Uno, and we played it once. Poor Mom was sitting right before Dahlia, and she took a dive a couple of times rather then pass on some pretty nasty card combos to Dahlia. Finally Dahlia won, and then she started to cry because she was out of cards and we weren't. Dad and I laughed as Mom explained to Dahlia that she had won the game, and she wanted to be the first one out of cards.

We also played Old Maid, and it came down to a pretty heated battle between Mom and Dad as to who got stuck with the Old Maid. Dad was fairly gracious about being stuck with it in the end. Though Dahlia did get a kick out of the silly adults. Bobbie was fast asleep on my shoulder and missed all the action.

We are going sledding tonight if we can get the tractor started. I am hoping that my car soaked up all the not-starting action. I couldn't get my car to start yesterday, and Dad hooked it up to a charger thingy today. After calling the previous owner, we decided that the battery was most likely the original battery (making it 9+ years old). So I was able to get the car started and drove over the Checker, and walked in with my little piece of paper clutched in my hands. The manager did not laugh when I asked if they remembered my Dad calling to talk to someone about a battery for my car. He found the employee that knew exactly what I was talking about, and we got the battery installed in a few minutes. The difference was $6 between the 7 year battery and the 8 year battery. Since I am planning on having the car for as long as possible, and I am really hoping it will be at least 8 years if not more the $6 seemed like a good investment.

Tomorrow we drive back to Taylorsville. We are heading out early so we can hopefully avoid the holiday traffic when we get closer to the big cities up north. Should be an interesting drive.
