Mostly Pointless Blog

So I am thinking that if I have a blog but never remember to update it that it is mostly pointless. As the point of a blog is to pass information from one person or group to another person or group. If it sits empty day after day is it under utilized.

So here goes. It has been a few months since I last updated. Dahlia turned five, and had a birthday party. I had a birthday party.

There are several of us at work that are on a get prepared kick. With everything going on in the world, and all the disasters in the US it seems like a good time to pick up one extra thing at the store. It really tore at my heart watching all the families in the fires, and hurricanes that were left without. I can't imangine what I would do if my kids were without food, or medicine. I could put up with a lot more then I think I could stand to put my kids through.

I know having extra food has helped us more then once when money got tight for one reason or another. Living frugally is not easy, but it is something that the Seher family is working to improve. Okay so Mommy is working on it, the girls are oblivious.

Less Talking and More Pictures?? Coming right up!!

The girls "helping" Grandpa. Notice that one is checking out flowers, and the other is carrying a wooden thingy (which is very shortly abandoned as it is not that fun to carry).

Here are the girls, with Naomi and Aunt Val watching all the crazy adults try to break Grandpa's Birthday Pinata. They got to run out and pick up the candy as it fell, but then they were quickly banished back tot he porch so they didn't accidentally get hit with the bat.

An oldie, but still a favorite picture. This is the girls dolled up in Grammy's traditional Easter Dress. Don's Mom insists on buying the girls an Easter Outfit. Complete with hats, purses, and gloves. The girls love it, and I figure if she wants to go through all the trouble of buying it, I have no problem having the girls wear it. It is a tradition in her family that hearkens back a ways. She talkes about remembering the excitement of knowing that she was getting a new frilly dress, with allt he works for Easter every year. I get a kick out of hearing her describe all the petticoats, and so forth that her mother ironed for her to get her skirt to be so fluffy. Since I don't actually OWN an iron, and even if I did it is highly doubtful I would use it. It boggles the mind that her mother would iron 6+ petticoats, just to go UNDER the dress. Times have definately changed a little.
